ABOUT ME
My name is Chandra and I have been a dedicated lactation advocate for over 18 years. I gave birth to my daughter in 2008 and my son in 2019. I worked closely with midwives and birth doulas for both my pregnancies and gained an undeniable love for the women who support women through such a precious time in their lives. I don’t think I would have had a successful nursing journeying if it wasn’t for this support. I decided to become an IBCLC soon after my son was born. My lives mission is to help other families in their personal breastfeeding goals.
My areas of lactation knowledge include (but aren't limited to):
latching issues, nipple pain, bleeding and/or cracked nipples
assessing for tongue tie and lip tie symptoms and providing families with referrals to local professionals who provide frenotomy services
low milk supply and increasing supply after illness
oversupply, plugged ducts, mastitis, thrush
exclusive pumping, pumping issues and return-to-work planning/troubleshooting
Bottle feeding problems, bottle aversion, and bottle refusal (yes, for formula feeding families too!)
weaning from the nipple shield(and fixing the issues that led to nipple shield use in the first place)
straight, lesbian, gay, queer, poly, and trans families– LGBTQ+ friendly & experienced
adoptive breastfeeding and chestfeeding
re-lactation and induced lactation
nursing after breast reduction or augmentation
safe sleep and safe co-sleeping practices
medications and procedures that may affect lactation
